Muintir Bhaire Community Council
Road Improvements - Sub Committees

Objectives:

To pressure the Cork County Council (CCC) into providing better road infrastructure on the Sheep's Head Peninsula.

To pressure the Cork County Council into providing traffic calming measures in the village areas of Kilcrohane and Ahakista.

Success to date:

A number of meetings have been held with Cork County Council elected representatives and local officials.

Work has been carried out on the north side of the Peninsula to straighten one bend with the help of local residents.

Work is on-going to remove three bends on the south side with the help of the CCC and the permission of local land owners to use their land.

Pressure has been put on the elected members of CCC to place 30 mile an hour signs in the two villages and deal with further traffic calming measures.
This is work is ongoing.
